Great Moustaches of the Past - Pierre de Coubertin

The above image is a digital representation of a photograph originally taken sometime between the years of 1867 and 1937, when the subject, one Pierre de Coubertin, roamed the Earth. As this brief biographical note attests, he is most well-known as a sort of Founding Father of the Modern Olympics. I came across this image in a book I am currently reading by the likes of Robert K. Barney, Stephen R. Wenn, and Scott G. Martyn - Selling The Five Rings: The International Olympic Committee and the Rise of Olympic Commercialism. If non-fiction is your bag and you happen to harbour an interest in the rise of the Olympic Games as a major commercial venture, then this might just be worth a read.

Of course, the first thing I thought when I turned to the page on which this image can be found was, "Look at the moustache on that guy."

And now I present to you, gentle reader, the modern-day "Olympic Fanfare" as played by a gaggle of (what I presume to be) socially awkward trombonists:
